MicroStrategy Joins Nasdaq 100 Index

The largest publicly traded company holding Bitcoin (BTC), MicroStrategy (MSTR), has officially been included in the Nasdaq 100 index.

On the 13th (local time), Eric Balchunas, a Bloomberg ETF analyst, stated, "Through the annual rebalancing, MicroStrategy and Palantir have been added to the Nasdaq 100 index. Companies that have been removed include Moderna, Illumina, and Super Micro Computer."

MicroStrategy is a prominent pro-crypto company, holding a total of 423,650 Bitcoins (at an average price of $60,324). This is the largest holding among publicly traded companies.

MicroStrategy's stock price is soaring as Bitcoin (BTC) remains strong. Since the U.S. presidential election, Bitcoin's price has risen by over 30%, while MicroStrategy's stock price has increased by about 27% during the same period.

Previously, James Seyffart, a Bloomberg ETF analyst, predicted, "If MicroStrategy is included in the Nasdaq 100 index, approximately $2.1 billion in funds will flow in," adding, "This is about 20% of MicroStrategy's average daily trading volume."

Meanwhile, the news of MicroStrategy's inclusion in the Nasdaq is also boosting Bitcoin's price. This is due to the expectation of increased exposure to Bitcoin. On this day, Bitcoin is trading at $102,000 on the Binance Tether (USDT) market, up about 2% from the previous day.
