Bloomberg "BlackRock Bitcoin Fund Changed ETF History"

Bloomberg evaluated the Bitcoin (BTC) fund launched this year by the world's largest asset manager, BlackRock, as having "achieved the best performance in the history of exchange-traded funds (ETFs)."

On the 30th (local time), Bloomberg reported, "BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has grown into a massive fund exceeding $50 billion in just 11 months since its launch," calling it "the most successful debut in ETF history." It continued, "(The Bitcoin ETF) contributed to raising the Bitcoin price above $100,000 for the first time ever," and "this led not only institutional investors but also individual investors who were skeptical about virtual assets to participate in the virtual asset market."

Initially, BlackRock had a skeptical view of Bitcoin. However, as global virtual asset manager Grayscale engaged in a legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a Bitcoin ETF, BlackRock changed its stance and launched a Bitcoin ETF earlier this year after receiving SEC approval.

There is also speculation that next year, the assets under management (AUM) of Bitcoin ETFs could surpass those of gold ETFs. Nate Geraci, CEO of ETF Store, predicted, "Unless the Bitcoin price plummets next year, IBIT will surpass 'SPDR Gold Shares,' the world's largest gold ETF."
