Lotte Innovate, an AI technology development company of the Lotte Group, is expanding its partnership with major U.S. tech companies like NVIDIA. This comes as the advanced metaverse platform 'Caliverse' received high praise at 'CES 2025'.
Kim Dong-kyu, CEO of Caliverse, stated on the 8th (local time) at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, "I felt that many major U.S. tech companies not only see Caliverse as having high potential but also as a partner for collaboration," and revealed that discussions were held with global companies like NVIDIA, Meta, Apple, and SoftBank for expanding the metaverse. Caliverse, a metaverse subsidiary of Lotte Innovate, applied various new technologies such as real-life fusion technology and user-generated content (UGC) on its independent platform the day before the official opening of CES 2025.
NVIDIA has also shown significant interest in Caliverse. Neil Trevett, Vice President of NVIDIA, visited the Lotte Innovate booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) North Hall the previous day to discuss the use of cloud computing systems with Kim Kyung-yeop, CEO of Lotte Innovate, and CEO Kim Dong-kyu. Lotte Innovate stated, "We have agreed to continue discussions with Vice President Trevett on linking with the Korea-U.S.-Japan Metaverse Industry Council through Caliverse."
Discussions with Meta focused on a user-creation-centered immersive content platform. Lotte Innovate has agreed to launch an application exclusively for Meta's XR headset 'Meta Quest' with Meta, a leader in the global extended reality (XR) market. Meta has shown particular interest in Caliverse's AI-based Caliverse content. Additionally, an exclusive memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with Whitestonedome, a developer of smartphone dome glass films and 3D films, for the supply of new 3D films. Based on this, they plan to release films and apps that can display 3D screens by simply attaching a dedicated protective film to regular smartphones or tablets in the first half of the year.
