The number of initial jobless claims in the United States slightly exceeded expectations.

According to data released by the U.S. Department of Labor on the 23rd (local time), this week's initial jobless claims were 223,000, slightly above the expected 221,000. This figure is an increase of 6,000 compared to last week's initial jobless claims of 217,000.

The number of continuous jobless claims, which have been filed for two consecutive weeks, also exceeded expectations at 1,899,000 compared to the expected 1,860,000.

The number of initial jobless claims is one of the indicators that can gauge the overheating of the U.S. labor market. An increase in jobless claims suggests a rise in unemployment, indicating a cooling of the employment market.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin, which was trading at $101,523 before the release of the initial jobless claims, showed an upward trend after the data was announced.

As of 10:39 PM, Bitcoin is trading at $102,078 on the Binance USDT market, down 2.30% compared to 24 hours ago.
