Sejin Oh of Korbit Elected as the Second Chair of DAXA

The Digital Asset Exchange Alliance (hereinafter referred to as 'DAXA'), composed of GOPAX, Bithumb, Upbit, Korbit, and Coinone, announced on the 18th that Korbit, a member company, was elected as the chair company at the extraordinary general meeting held on the 17th.

At the DAXA extraordinary general meeting held that day, it was unanimously agreed to appoint the chair in the order of Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration acceptance. Accordingly, Sejin Oh of Korbit will serve as the second chair of DAXA. Chairman Oh's term will begin on January 1, 2025, and he is expected to serve for two years.

Chairman Sejin Oh was elected as the second chair of DAXA following the inaugural chairman, Seokwoo Lee. He is currently the CEO of Korbit and has previously worked as the Chief Strategy Officer of Korbit, and at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) and Barclays.

DAXA Chairman Sejin Oh stated, "As DAXA has been actively operating as the only self-regulatory organization in the country for the past two years, we will continue to explore various ways for DAXA to foster a healthy digital asset market," adding, "I would also like to express my deep gratitude to Dunamu and Chairman Seokwoo Lee, who played an important role during a time of significant change in the digital asset market."
