Mantle Transitions to Zero-Knowledge Rollup through Partnership with Succinct

Ethereum (ETH) Layer 2 Mantle (MNT) announced on the 20th that it has formed an industry-first partnership with Succinct to transition its network from the existing Optimism Rollup to a Zero-Knowledge Rollup. Succinct is a web3 infrastructure company providing solutions for Zero-Knowledge Rollups.

This collaboration aims to achieve Mantle Network's goal of building a liquidity chain for institutional-level payments and value transfer liquidity.

Specifically, Succinct's Zero-Knowledge Rollup solution, SP1, will be introduced to the Mantle Network, allowing Mantle to enjoy benefits such as ▲ fast payment finality, ▲ compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, and ▲ cost efficiency. In particular, in terms of payment finality, Mantle will be able to establish bridging performance approximately 168 times faster than before.

Zero-Knowledge Rollups verify the validity of transactions processed off-chain using cryptographic proofs, offering faster transaction finality and lower gas costs compared to other rollup methods.

Joshua Cheung, Mantle's Chief Product Officer (CPO), stated, "This partnership between Mantle and Succinct is the first step for Mantle to support financial services in the future," adding, "Zero-Knowledge proof technology is expected to enable higher-level transactions."
