Upbit·Hana Bank Partnership Preparation, Upbit Says "Not True"

Reports have emerged that the domestic virtual asset (cryptocurrency) exchange Upbit is conducting tests for a partnership with Hana Bank for KRW deposit and withdrawal accounts. However, Upbit has stated that this is not true.

On the 4th, an Upbit representative told Bloomingbit over the phone, "We have not conducted any technical integration tests for deposit and withdrawal account partnerships with Hana Bank," and added, "This is not true." Furthermore, regarding the addition of the Hana Bank certificate, they explained, "It was added as one of several authentication methods for customer convenience," and clarified that using the Hana Bank certificate is unrelated to the selection of a partner bank.

Additionally, they expressed their stance on preparations for attracting corporate clients. The Upbit representative stated, "There are no clear decisions made regarding the allowance of corporate accounts so far, so we are not making any separate preparations," and added, "We will prepare based on future guidelines when they are released."

Meanwhile, there have been reports that Upbit is conducting technical integration tests for a partnership with Hana Bank for KRW deposit and withdrawal accounts as part of its efforts to attract corporate clients.
