African Web3 Company 'Jambo' to Enhance 'JamboPhone' Connectivity with Satellite System

Jambo announced on the 22nd (local time) that it will strengthen global JamboPhone connectivity by establishing a satellite system. Jambo is a Congo-based Web3 startup that has secured a Series A investment of $30 million (approximately 40 billion KRW) from blockchain investment firm Hashed.

JamboPhone is a Web3-enabled Android 14-based smartphone designed for emerging markets where smartphone connectivity is challenging. It features pre-installed apps within the Jambo ecosystem optimized for profit opportunities such as Decentralized Finance (DeFi), gaming, and meme coins.

Jambo stated, "Currently, more than 3 billion people worldwide do not have stable access to the internet," adding, "Jambo aims to reduce points of poor data access through satellites and provide cost-effective and reliable services." They further explained, "We will make it easier for users to access the Jambo ecosystem via satellites," and that "the satellite program will be implemented in four phases starting from the first quarter of this year."
